Gulf Coast Exotic Bird Sanctuary

 

About Pearland Pet Resort:

    We are a small resort run by Gulf Coast Exotic Bird Sanctuary. All proceeds go to funding the sanctuary. We have an all volunteer staff. We are a true cage free facility providing a total of 6 private bedrooms for our guests. We also offer our canine guests 3 ˝ chain link fenced acres to run and play. For those dogs that love to swim, we have a 1-acre pond with a small island to which they can swim too and sniff around. Each of our canine guests are let out separately and have the freedom to roam the resort with supervision.

  

 

About The Founders:

 

 

 Lavenia Fernández has 12 years veterinary assistant experience with both domestic and exotic animals and has done wildlife rehabilitation for 17 years.  She also runs Gulf Coast Exotic Bird Sanctuary.

  

 

Orlando Fernández D.C. is a Chiropractor here in Pearland.

   

 

Linnea Fernández is a pet-care technician (and promising animal-rescuer).

   

About Our Volunteer Staff:

 

   

 Devon has a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology with a minor in International Area Studies. She has owned and cared for everything ranging from pigs, goats, lambs, chickens, dogs, birds, mice.. the list goes on. She lives on about 2 acres with a pig, chicken, and 5 dogs. She also does pet sitting for our clients when we are full. 

         

   

Kelly has a great love for animals and will not hesitate to rescue any animal in need of help. She has been at the resort and sanctuary for quite awhile and our guests love her. She always manages to tire them out. She also does occasional pet sitting when her schedule allows.

 

 

 

Randi is a veterinary technician and helps us out part-time. She also stops by to observe the parrots of Gulf Coast Exotic Bird Sanctuary for any problems that may exist and transports them to our veterinarian when needed. She has extensive experience with both domestic and exotic pets and is employed at a well known local veterinarian.

         

   

Sarah has six years experience in the veterinary field. She loves working with all the animals at the sanctuary and provides special attention to our guests. She also does pet sitting in her home for our clients when we are full.

 

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Times

 

Please specify A.M. or P.M. Drop-off and Pick up during the week otherwise we cannot guarantee someone will be available.  We occasionally have no boarders and the volunteer will not show up if there is no scheduled drop off. The resort is run by volunteers and we do not want to waste there time waiting for a no-show. We appreciate your understanding.

 

Monday through Friday

7:30a.m. - 9:00a.m             5:00 p.m. - 6:00p.m.

                 

Saturday

        5:00p.m. - 6:00p.m.

 

Sunday

        5:00p.m. - 6:00p.m.

 

(Sorry, we do not offer before or after hour drop-offs and pick-ups)

Holiday Schedule

 

Not Available For Boarding Christmas eve and Christmas day as our volunteers would like to spend time with family.

For the safety of our guests, front gate is locked at all times;

therefore drop offs and pick-ups during specified times only.
